The office nap at Google might not be such a bad idea
Hectic week again? Time for a brain-break: Become smarter while sleeping.
Yes, you read it correctly. It is known for a very long time that sleep is good for our conscious memory. Dr. Netasha Saikh and Dr. Elizabeth Coulthard of the University of Bristol have now shown that a powernap can also help to create order in information that we subconsciously process.
It can therefore be useful to close the eyes after a workout, during work, sports or, for example, after a driving lesson to become even more efficient. At Google – where else – they already are convinced of the positive effects of a powernap on the work floor and even created special “nap pods” in several offices to maximize the performance of the employees.
So, what is holding you back? Close your eyes, breathe calmly and let the subconscious do your work!
